We are pleased to announce the return of the 50 Books/50 Covers Competition for books published during 2013. Tracing its roots back over 90, this survey of the best in book design represents perhaps the longest-standing legacy in American graphic design.
For the third year in a row, first time, short-run publications will be considered along with commercially printed books. We will also consider any English-language book, regardless of country of origin (bilingual books with English text are acceptable).
In January, the editors of Design Observer will announce the jury to review the entires and to select the 50 best books and 50 best covers published during 2013.
We are proud to honor the profound passion of our community for books and for book design, and excited to extend that passion into the changing world of 21st-century publishing. Thank you for supporting 50 Books/50 Covers.
Historical 50 Books/50 Covers collections from 1995-2010 are viewable in the AIGA Design Archives
. The competition has been sponsored by AIGA since 1924.
