Here are Today’s images.

TODAY is a weekly jewel box of seemingly random, yet thoughtfully selected, images. At times tender, wicked, nostalgic, amusing, and dazzling, each edition is presented without narration, editing or explanation by its author, designer Eric Baker. "It all began as a goof. One day I sent a good friend about 50 random pictures of cheese. I don't know why, but to me cheese is funny, perhaps it is the word itself and its various connotations.  Eventually I began looking closer, or should I say broader at 'things'. Things lost on the fringes...ordinary, odd, beautiful things.  Esoteric images, old diagrams, typography, cartography — visions of a once promising but now extinct future."

Love the one that simply proclaims "DEAD".

Interesting the way this area of design hasn't really moved on since the 19th century.

Truly a now under-recognized way to be. Sarah Fletcher made my eyes tear.

I actually took a couple of similar picture (the DEAD and lion ones). Both of those are from the same cemetery in London: Highgate Cemetery (though ones from west and the other is from the east section. Google search: http://bit.ly/4qT1q5). They offer great tours, for anyone who wants to visit, particularly on the weekends I think--though, it's sort of luck of the draw I guess, depending on who you get you might go off trail and check out some cool things no one is supposed to see.

The angel weeping over the sarcophagus is absolutely beautiful. Too you have to go to the cemetery for good sculpture these days...

The weeping angels break my heart. And I love the colorful tiles in the image of the grave simply marked "BOB." These images are are captivating and beautiful.

Fabulous images!
I'm not too concerned with being immortalized in stone, but it does make me think about what would be an appropriate marker.
