Ashleigh Pedersen

Ashleigh Pedersen was born and raised in Virginia. After attending Virginia Commonwealth University, she studied under notorious outlaw and creative writing professor Chuck Kinder at the University of Pittsburgh, earning an M.F.A. She is currently writing a novel and teaching high school English in Austin, Texas. Her story “Small and Heavy World” was previously featured in New Stories from the South: This Year’s Best 2010 and The Iowa Review. More recently, The Best American Short Stories 2010 listed it as one of the year’s “100 Most Distinguished Stories.”
