Brian Rosa
Originally from Connecticut, Brian Rosa is a photographer and Ph.D. researcher in human geography at the University of Manchester (England). He holds a masters degree in city and regional planning from Cornell University. His visual and academic work deals with the overlapping themes of urban restructuring, leftover spaces, networked infrastructures and technical artifacts in the built environment. He has exhibited his photography extensively in the United States, the United Kingdom and Mexico, and has written for
The Next American City and
Triple Canopy. In 2009, he was co-curator of the exhibition
Photocartographies, at g727 in Los Angeles, which featured the work of artists including Frank Gohlke.
Brian is half of the creative studio Site Unseen, with Brooklyn-based artist Adam Ryder. Their most recent work was part of a residency at the Center for Land Use Interpretation in Wendover, Utah, during the summer of 2010.
