Denis Wood


Denis Wood is a geographer, independent scholar and author of several books, including the highly influential The Power of Maps, which originated as an exhibition he curated for the Cooper Hewitt National Museum of Design and remounted at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.

Recent books include Making Maps with John Krygier, The Natures of Maps with John Fels, Rethinking the Power of Maps with Fels and Krygier, and Everything Sings: Maps for a Narrative Atlas. Maps from Everything Sings have been exhibited internationally and reproduced in a variety of publications, including You Are Here: Personal Geographies and Other Maps of the Imagination, by Katherine Harmon.
