Gita Lenz

Gita Lenz (1910–2011) was an American photographer who lived and worked in New York City.

Lenz was most active from the 1940s through the early 1960s. Her work was included in two photography exhibitions curated by Edward Steichen for the Museum of Modern Art, including Abstraction in Photography and The Family of Man, and in a three-person show at the Brooklyn Museum of Art. Lenz's career was halted by circumstances in the 1960s. More recently her work has been receiving new recognition, and was exhibited in New York in late 2010, a few months before her death.
