Jeffrey Carney
Jeffrey Carney is studio manager of the Coastal Sustainability Studio and visiting assistant professor of landscape architecture at LSU. He teaches courses in both landscape architecture and architecture. Jeff received his BA from Washington University in St. Louis and master’s degrees in both architecture and city and regional planning from the University of California, Berkeley.
His interest in the overlap of architecture, urbanism, and ecology led him first to Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill in San Francisco, where he worked on a series of large scale urban interventions. Following this, Jeff moved to Louisiana to teach at LSU. His teaching and work with the CSS focus on the designer's ability to see, understand and design within the broader ecological, infrastructural and social fabric of our urban environment.
