Jorge Otero-Pailos
Jorge Otero-Pailos is an architect, artist and theorist specialized in experimental forms of preservation.
Otero-Pailos is Associate Professor of Historic Preservation in Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. His research and work rethinks preservation as a powerful countercultural practice that creates alternative futures for our world heritage. His installations have been exhibited at the Venice Art Biennial (2009) and the Manifesta European Contemporary Art Biennial (2008). He is the founder and editor of the journal
Future Anterior, and the author of
Architecture’s Historical Turn: Phenomenology and the Rise of the Postmodern. His works and writings have been featured in international publications such as
