Kristi Dykema Cheramie

Kristi Dykema Cheramie is Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture at the Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture at Louisiana State University. She received a Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Virginia and a Master of Architecture at the University of California, Berkeley, where she was awarded the 2005 John K. Branner Traveling Fellowship. Her work looks at change over time in rural landscapes, with an emphasis on tracking patterns of adaptability in vernacular building traditions. Her research methods and pedagogy focus on the evolution of place and the factors contributing to spatial change. In 2008, Kristi received the EDRA/Places Journal/Metropolis Magazine Research Award. Her work, which draws heavily on drawing and photography, has also been published in the Journal of Landscape Architecture, Places, and Detail Magazine.
