is an artist, creative director, interaction designer, and co-founding partner of Acclair. He holds master's degrees in Interaction Design (MA, IDII 2004) and Fine Arts (MFA with honors, SFSU 1993) and has won awards in both fields. Born and raised in California, he recently completed and exhibited the prototype stage of LA Interchange, a real-time memorial proposed for a freeway intersection in downtown Los Angeles. Thie has published articles on new media in Leonardo
magazines and lectured on critical design and emerging media at Headlands Center for the Arts, California College of the Arts, San Diego and San Jose State Universities, Kala Art Institute and the Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems. He is currently focused on developing brain-related valuation services through his Acclair consultancy, while facilitating an open platform for discussion of the present and future of brain-related products and services.
