In his own writing he is particularly interested in environmental art, ecological urbanism, and how attitudes and behaviors change. In 2009–10 he was a fellow at the Stanford Humanities Center and before that he participated in the Arts Writing Workshop, a partnership between the International Art Critics Association and the Creative Capital / Warhol Foundation.
