Mark Robbins


Mark Robbins is executive director of the International Center of Photography in New York. Previously he was dean of the Syracuse University School of Architecture and the university senior advisor on architecture and urban initiatives. 

Robbins has also served as director of design at the National Endowment for the Arts, curator of architecture at the Wexner Center for the Arts, and associate professor at the Knowlton School of Architecture at Ohio State University. He has been a visiting professor at University of Virginia, SCI-Arc, Georgia Institute of Technology and the Harvard Graduate School of Design.

Robbins's creative work bridges the fields of art and architecture, encompassing photography, installations and site-specific projects. Households, a photographic series on domestic space, was published by Monacelli Press; Angles of Incidence, a monograph on Robbins's projects, was published by Princeton Architectural Press. Robbins is a recipient of the Rome Prize from the American Academy in Rome and a fellowship in the visual arts from the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University.
