Raphael Sperry


Raphael Sperry is a past national president of Architects/Designers/Planners for Social Responsibillity and director of ADPSR’s Alternatives to Incarceration campaign. He is an architect and green building consultant at Simon & Associates in San Francisco, where he has consulted on numerous public and private sector projects. He teaches green architecture and energy systems classes at Stanford University and California College of the Arts, and recently became the first architect to ever receive a Soros Justice Fellowship to research the social impacts of the design of prisons and community-based alternatives to incarceration. He holds a B.A. from Harvard University and a M.Arch from the Yale School of Architecture.
