Robert Adams

For four decades Robert Adams has photographed the landscape of the American West, focusing especially on California, Oregon and his home state of Colorado. 

He came to early prominence when his work was included in the seminal 1975 exhibition, New Topographics: Photographs of a Man-Altered Landscape. He has received many awards, including a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship and the Hasselblad Award. His work has been widely published and exhibited, and most recently has been the subject of a retrospective organized by the Yale University Art Gallery, The Place We Live.
