While I am a strong advocate of contemporary architecture, there are places in every city that deserve a contextual and sensitive response. Many parts of Havana would certainly qualify in my mind for that approach. Being modern for the sake of being modern and at the cost of violating the rules of "place" with total disregard for context, is not in my mind a successful approach.

Cuba and its capital Havana are such a great places for me.Тhe combination of old time traditions with history and their preservation. Modern is not a word that can be applied to the Cuban's architecture, but it is so refreshing to hear that some elements of it are starting to make their way in it. I am really glad to be reading about so many innovative projects and slow, but yet, present progress!
