There are also some words by Glen Small, another visionary architect who was also a good friend of Mr. Johansen.
It is personal in content and but sheds some light into great architect and his work. There is also a meet moment in it with John Johansen, Lebbeus Woods and Glen Small.
It can be found in Glen Small's blog Small at Large.

I had the pleasure of curating Lebbeus Woods' in a show in Barcelona called "The Wall" in 95. It was shortly after his work on the destruction in Bosnia emerged and the memories were still fresh, we all felt the pertinence of war in Europe, though that did not alter his serenity and focus. For the exhibit Lebbeus constructed a wooden island/boat in the middle of the gallery space of Sala Montcada, which became his multi-faceted wall to think on, sketch on and attach content to; the walls were left alone. In some ways it was a large collage of ideas, previous and present; but it was also very much a vehicle for personal expression in a gestural sense, something you might miss by just viewing his drawings or reading his criticism. He spent the night before the opening doodling and sketching and filling in, in a obsessive, painterly way. Dan Graham once remarked on artists who aspired to be architects; Lebbeus found a way through architecture to come closer to an artist's mode, not only in terms of how he engaged ideas but also in the clear pleasure he derived from generating image. A rare breed. Thanks for reminding us of his legacy.
