His columns have appeared in over 200 magazines, journals and newspapers, including the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Japan Times, International Herald Tribune, Smithsonian magazine and Journal of Commerce. He has been a consultant to local, state and federal governments in the U.S. and abroad and to private businesses as large as IBM and as small as microbreweries.
