Margaret Wertheim, in 2003 she and her twin sister Christine (a professor at Calarts) founded the Institute For Figuring, an organization devoted to the poetic and aesthetic dimensions of math, science and the technical arts. In 2009 she presented the Crochet Reef Project at TED.
