Michael Murphy is the executive director of MASS Design Group, which he co-founded in 2008. In addition to leading the design and construction of the Butaro Hospital in Rwanda, which opened in January 2011, Michael has been the recipient of the 2010 Design Futures Council Emerging Leader Scholarship, and was chosen as one of Fast Company magazine’s "Masters of Design" and Metropolis magazine’s 2011 "Game Changers." He has taught courses on design for infection control at Harvard University’s school of Public Health and is an adjunct instructor at Clark University.
