Occupy America 2011
It was an idea I began a long time ago to address prisoners of conscience from different countries, beginning with Iran (see below). I wanted to create an identity poster system that could be applied to any repressive regime. Seeing the harassment and arrests of “occupiers” everywhere, I felt it was an appropriate way to turn our criteria for looking at democratic norms in other places on ourselves. —Chaz Maviyane-Davies
