Word on the Water
Word on the Water is the only floating bookshop I have ever seen. At the time, it was moored in Camden Lock Canal and the perfect escape from the frenetic bustle of Camden Market. A converted 1920s coal barge, Word on the Water is outfitted with a 1960s-style living room, a great selection of secondhand books packed into floor-to-ceiling shelves, an armchair and a bench, a cat, and welcoming proprietors. Next time that you’re in London follow their movement and check out their latest location on Facebook and Twitter and make sure to say hi.
