Episode 129: Spatial Justice
Social practice artist De Nichols joins the Observatory to talk about cities, monuments, and designing for community. During her recent Loeb Fellowship, Nichols came to a realization:
I actually think I want to run for office as an artist, as a designer, and apply design thinking into this more civic space and be able to champion a reimagining of how our cities are designed, what are public amenities look like, how they are experienced by the people in our communities who have been most marginalized, and how we might better understand the ills of how people are policed in public.
