Barry Nalebuff teaches at the Yale School of Management. His specialty is game theory and its application to business strategy.
Designers often talk about how constraints can bring about creative solutions. That’s not always Nalebuff’s approach:
I want people to first solve problems with no constraints.…What would Croesus do? What would you do if you had unlimited amounts of money? And that allows you to think it a much more expansive way.
First generate ideas, he says, and then try to make them practical.
