S2E10: Robert Brunner
Robert Brunner is a founder of Ammunition, a design firm based in San Francisco. He has designed products from the Apple PowerBook to Beats by Dre headphones.
Ammunition does some projects for a fee, but it will also negotiate for a share of revenue or, with early-stage startups, equity in the company. Brunner believes that these business models make Ammunition more effective:
We become much more than just the hired designer. We become a partner. The respect level and the ability to take advice goes way up, and we find that we’re able to affect the outcome much more.
