Yoshiko Sato 1960-2012 : An Exhibition

The life and work of Yoshiko Sato, an internationally recognized architect and Associate Professor at Columbia’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, will be celebrated in an afternoon of memorial tributes from colleagues, faculty, students and friends on Sunday April 29 at 3pm, in Wood Auditorium at Avery Hall on the Columbia campus. At Yoshiko’s behest, the school will announce at the event the establishment of the Sato Space Architecture Fund, which will expand upon her teaching on the architecture of outer space with an annual grant for related travel and research.

Yoshiko Sato is remembered here by Jessica Helfand.

An exhibition of her work, which opened on April 23, is on view on the 100 and 400 levels of Avery Hall through May 4, 2012.
