Independence Day : The Real Story
An unsigned etching (1749) courtesy of The National Museum of the Performing Arts, United Kingdom
A hand colored etching from 1749, courtesy of the National Museum of the Performing Arts in London. Ironic, perhaps, as it is this day in the United States that we celebrate our independence from British rule.

Happy Independence Day, wherever — and whoever — you are, from all of us at Design Observer.
