50 Books/50 Covers Competition: Deadline March 31
As the deadline for nominations to the 50 Books/50 Covers Competition approaches, we have been so pleased at the hundreds of incredible submissions we have received for books published during 2012. The deadline to participate is March 31, so please make your nomination here.
Tracing its roots back to 1924, this survey of the best in book design represents perhaps the longest-standing legacy in American graphic design. This legacy continues thanks to a partnership between Design Observer, AIGA and Designers & Books.
In addition to guidance provided by a 35-person advisory board, nominations are also open to anyone through a simple online process. There is no entry fee and no long forms to fill out. Short-run publications will be considered along with commercially printed books. We will also consider any English-language book, regardless of country of origin or publication (bilingual books with English text are also acceptable).
The editors of Design Observer will comprise a jury to review the nominations and to select the 50 best books and 50 best covers published during 2012. The selections will be exhibited online on three sites: Design Observer, AIGA Design Archives and Designers & Books — a unique opportunity for the winners to be showcased and archived on three sites. Winners will be announced in May. Complete information and guildelines are here.
