Neon: Bright Lights, Big City

Friday will be the shortest day of the year. And for urban dwellers, nothing lights up the night like neon. Collector’s Weekly celebrates the neon sign and interviews architect Kirsten Hively, the created of the free iPhone app Project Neon. The app allows users to locate, rate, and learn a little of the personal history of 120 New York signs. She explains why neon signs have such an irresistible allure, and shares some of her 800+ photos of neon signs.
