Welcome to the Asylum
As Halloween approaches each year, I like to go into the back caverns of the photo archive, a place I call the asylum — where I house the creepiest and oddest snapshots from my collection. I hear the soft, broken moans from these images call out to me in quiet whispers: “Take me!” one says. “No, me-e!” says another. All orphans, these little images of the creepy genre are not for everyone. Indeed, some images I own are so bizarre and strange, I dare not show them on this site. After all, they are photographs and with some images I have had to ask myself “can this be what I think it is?” No, I say to myself — this has to be staged. But is it?
So enjoy these odd, slightly creepy photographs in celebration of All Hallows Eve, and remember, the scariest images in my collection are still safely locked away in the asylum. At least they were as of this writing.
