S3E3: Lucienne Roberts
Lucienne Roberts runs the design studio LucienneRoberts+ and the publisher GraphicDesign+. She designs books, posters, and printed materials, and also exhibitions.
For “Can Graphic Design Save Your Life?” at the Wellcome Center in London, she not only designed the exhibition but helped curate the show, which examines the relationship between graphic design and health
One section of the exhibition focuses on smoking:
We had to take a, no pun intended, deep breath in that we had to say, “We’re culpable here in selling cigarettes just as much as warning about them.” And the whole story of the unbranded cigarette packet is such an interesting one because it makes absolutely clear how important graphic design is.
“Can Graphic Design Save Your Life?” runs through January 2018.
If you can’t get to London, there’s also a book, published by GraphicDesign+
