The Olympic City, Documenting The Remains
Jon Pack and Gary Hustwit visted former Olympic host cities all over the world, documenting what remains and how Olympic development has affected these cities and their citizens. 200 of their photos have been collected into a new book, The Olympic City. Designed by Paul Sahre the book will be a limited edition of only 1,000 copies. There will be an Olympic City photo exhibit at powerHouse Arena in Dumbo, Brooklyn, June 21 to July 10.
Check out this CNN Photo Blog feature on the proejct, and a recent interview with Gary and Jon in The Atlantic.
And don’t forget to read “Displacement Decathalon” on Places to find out more about struggles for affordable housing in past and future host cities, from Atlanta to Rio.
